Hearing Tests
in Birmingham, AL

We provide comprehensive hearing tests for anyone with hearing concerns. These are diagnostic medical tests used to differentiate between hearing loss due to a medical condition or due to noise exposure, genetics, or the normal aging process. All our testing is done in a sound treated booth and consists of pure tone sound testing, accuracy to speech understanding, and evaluation of your ability to understand speech with competing noise.

Hearing Aid Fittings
and Consultations

As a private hearing center, we work with many different major manufacturers to offer a wide range of hearing aids. After we’ve evaluated your hearing, we can recommend hearing aids that will be most helpful for your individual hearing loss and your needs.

Our audiologists will then expertly fit and fine-tune your new devices to be comfortable for you.

Real Ear Measurement

Our hearing specialists use real ear measurement to ensure your devices are fit precisely to your needs. Real ear measurement involves placing a small microphone in the patient’s ear canal to measure the sound levels of their hearing aids. This allows our hearing specialists to fine-tune the settings of the device to ensure it provides the optimal level of amplification for your prescriptive needs.

Hearing Aid Adjustments and Repairs

If something isn’t working right with your hearing aids, bring them in and we’ll make any necessary adjustments. We can do some repairs in-office, and if we do need to send your hearing aids to the manufacturer for more complex repairs, we offer loaner devices so you won’t ever be without your hearing! Even if you didn’t purchase your hearing aids from us, we are happy to help you with your current hearing devices.

Aural Rehabilitation

We support our patients through strategies to help improve communication abilities. These include communication strategies, counseling, and education on hearing technology. Our goal is to support better understanding in daily conversations and reduce the impact of hearing difficulties in social and familial settings.

Tinnitus Management

Commonly known as “ringing in the ears,” tinnitus can range from mildly annoying to debilitating. Millions of Americans experience some degree of tinnitus in their life. Tinnitus is when you hear a ringing, buzzing, humming, whooshing, or whistling sound in your ears or head when no external sound is present. We offer solutions to help alleviate the ringing in your ears and can help you overcome your symptoms of tinnitus.

Custom-Fit Hearing Protection

Noise-induced hearing loss is very common in people of all ages. To prevent damage to your hearing, it is recommended that you wear earplugs or earmuffs whenever you are exposed to loud noise. We can take custom molds of your ears to create custom earplugs, swimming plugs, and in-ear monitors for musicians. We also provide electronic hearing protection and enhancement products for hunters.
